Y Generation & The Digital Age

   Digitalization is everywhere. We, as Y Gen, were born and have lived in the digital age. We grew up with phones, computers, TVs, tablets, … Nevertheless I remember in my early childhood that I had none of these when time was just spent in playing toys. Seeing babies swiping the Ipad is very surprising nowadays but it is sticked to the new world. I also remember the time when my dad got his first phone. It was a black flap phone with an antenna. What is that even? haha. Our first computer was taking fifty times more space than my actual MacBook Air, it was square and so big! We played cards and balls, we sprung everywhere, we screamed and enjoyed going to the park. What about the Z Gen? Downloading apps? Clicking on a screen? Technology evolves so fast and our mission is to follow its advances.

Highlight: Women’s Fashion S/S 2016 Paris

Book a flight to Paris for the biggest and craziest fashion week! “Welcome aboard on Chanel Airlines non stop flight to Paris! Do not forget to fasten your seatbelt. We wish you all an enjoyable flight!” I think you probably understood what I was talking about and a Chanel show is never ever something you can miss. Each season everyone is dying for it, we all want to know what this year’s shows are going to be, what theme Mister Lagerfeld chose. Suspense, suspense until last minute. It is time to check in now! What a relief and a surprise to always discover the new collection. Always incredible to see that Choupette’s dad manages to reinvent and innovate, while sticking to Gabrielle Chanel’s codes and style. Once again. Good job! I distinguished two different parts: one – pictured above – that is more classic with the straight cuts and knitwear, and the second one – pictured bellow – slightly more modern. Even through the makeup, models had blue lines all over and around the eyes, or they were wearing futuristic sunglasses, the ones that are quite big with colored or grey reflection, where you can not see the eyes, you see which ones I’m talking about? Highlight: Women’s Fashion S/S 2016 Milan

Emporio Armani

Milano, Milano, with the Italian accent, as Chiara Ferragni would say. The shows taking place there were very creative, with lots of different styles. Firstly as you can see on top, Emporio Armani played with pink and grey which is a combination that I loved when I was a child. If there is one thing I can assure you 100% is that Chinese people love pink. This color is often perceived as a little girl’s favorite color and in the Middle Kingdom’s culture, ladies do not necessarily want to grow up to the woman stage, this is why they are always looking for youth, white baby skin, innocent style… They also look younger than their age most of the time. One of the reason is also due to their clothing choices. In Paris for instance, teenagers or young adults are wearing very classic clothes giving them a more mature identity, which is not the case in Asian countries. To me, the second look is going to increase sales over there while the first outfit that has this casual street style is going to be more appreciated in Japan. Whereas looks n°3 & 5 present jacket and bomber that you can simply put on your shoulders without wearing it properly as well. And this will give a sporty chic touch to what you are going to pair it with, wether a dress, a skirt or a pair of trousers. Highlight: Women’s Fashion S/S 2016 London

While on the other side of the Atlantic, the designs are completely different… Let’s meet in one of the most expensive cities in the world – London! After discovering the place, you do realize people are more expressive there. You can see lots of colors in the street through dyed hair to clothes. People seem happier, more joyful and open minded as a comparison to Parisian. All kind of artistic creation can be found, art is everywhere. It is inspiring. But among this entire rainbow words, don’t forget that the British brand by excellence is obviously Burberry and it depends on the seasons but this year Christopher Bailey is not offering a wide color range. Highlight: Women’s Fashion S/S 2016 New York

Anna Sui

First destination. New York. You will find here some of my selections of NYFW. To begin, I will firstly start with Anna Sui – above – who worked on a very colorful collection for Spring Summer 2016. The woman is on vacation mode through cropped tops and dresses. You are basically brought to some islands by simply looking at the different looks. On the very left, the swimsuit has this red roses and green leaves print that directly reminds me of tattoos but adding the kimono, the entire look feels very Asian in a way – or Hawaiian, just like the next blue dress. I am usually not really into all kind of holes because it feels like a fishing net most of the time but the look in the middle shout out to me, the jacket is perfect on top of a all white or beige outfit. Then the green look is the one I would wear in the city when the weather is very good, sunny but not too hot. Nothing extravagant, but still fashionable. Finally we end up with Gigi, the sporty model from Australia who wrote an open letter on Instagram about her body, wearing a red beach dress. Highlight: Men’s Fashion Week S/S 16

 

Women’s Fashion Week just started, but before that, let’s have a look on the other gender. I am calling the men first! I’ve been thinking to approach the theme in a different way and I want it to be more fun and joyful with a different design when it comes to something similar. You will understand what I am saying by reading the full article. By talking with friends and acquaintances, I realized that we have a total opposite vision. As a female, what is beautiful and interesting for me is so different from what a male thinks. Also we need to focus on the different style whether someone is into chic, minimalist or sporty etc. Moreover between girls, the thoughts are split as well. Let’s get started!
